I’ve etched my photograph into a piece of brass and added rich patina to create a visually contrasting composition. This combination of lights and darks significantly enhances both the aesthetic appeal and the overall visual presentation of my work.
I have mounted these carefully crafted elements on an elegant wooden ‘float’ frame, measuring 12 inches by 6 inches by 1.25 inches.
A Metal Approach
I like to present my work in ways that are new to myself. Trying different mediums and techniques; to experiment and create work that is out of my comfort zone that has an end result unexpected to me.
These are created from my drawings or my original photographs and chemically etched into copper, brass or bronze. I use different methods of adding patina and build a floating panel for these to hang on a wall.
